This blog contains information about child sponsorship. All of the sponsors mentioned here support their sponsor children by making regular contributions that enable the sponsor children to receive health benefits, tuition support, food, and many other benefits. If you have ever doubted the value of becoming a sponsor- take a few moments to check out this blog. Most importantly, take note at the difference a special needs donation makes with our Make a Change fundraisers!

Facebook Friends
"Joy Ann has been enrolled in our program, but since you and Jhonalyn are friends on Facebook we are not able to assign Joy Ann to you, as it conflicts with our no direct contact policy. In order to protect the privacy and well being of our sponsored children and our sponsors, we have strict policies in place that do not allow direct, unsupervised communications between sponsored children and sponsors. This includes letters, phone calls, visits and any electronic social networking sites.
In addition to our internal policies, we follow the guidelines of InterAction, a coalition of over 150 U.S.-based non-profit organizations working to promote human dignity and development in more than 160 countries around the world.
InterAction’s child protection standards call for child sponsorship organizations to review all correspondence between sponsors and children for inappropriate material and to ensure that the children’s privacy is protec ted . We must supervise all phone calls, sponsor visits and any other type of contact between the children and their sponsors."

Project #11A Pictures & Details

On October 21, 2009 Jhonalyn received1 double size bed with mattress
1 Assorted grocery items
1 meals and transportation expense
What were the child's/family's comments when gifts were delivered?
Jhonalyn was so happy when she learned that she will be having a bed. She said " i will share it with my sibling because I also want her to enjoy the comfort of sleeping , it is very timely because some of our wooden bed and mat were damaged due to the flood caused by the recent typhoon"Ondoy"
How will the gifts benefit the child and/family?
The double-sized bed will be shared by Jhonalyn and her younger sibling, Joy Ann who is her closet sibling. Jhonalyn and Joy Ann will now share the comfort of sleeping every night. The groceries will be shared by the entire family in one week time.
Additional Comments:
Jhonalyn decided to buy a double bed instead of a single bed with beddings, because she really wanted to share the comfort of sleeping with her younger sibling, Joy Ann. Since the amount is enough for a double bed, she opted to purchase it with so much joy because she can share the blessing with one member of her family
Dear Mrs Schilling
A Blessed and Joyful day to you and your family
I just received another special gift from you and I'm very thankful for that. Because of your gift I was able to buy my new school bag, blouse, slippers, hair accessories and bed. I also bought groceries for my family. All the gifts are big help to me and my family. I really appreciate all your help.
Thank you very much and God Bless!
Jhonalyn

Current Fundraiser updates
http://www.firstgiving.com/graduates (This one is only $70 short of funding)
http://www.firstgiving.com/graduates2 (We have $238 to go on this one)
http://www.firstgiving.com/help4mercy (only $123 left for Mercy)
Once Mercy's fundraiser completes, or Tamara's two fundraisers complete I will post the next small fundraiser. Tamara has a raffle going for her two fundraisers. Look back at my post regarding the raffle she is holding. I would like to get her small $150 project funded first since it is doable within the month. Only $70 left, and that one will be complete.
I know the fundraisers have seemed to slowed down, but remember that they are now much larger than the amount we did before. Don't get discouraged.

Raffle for $100 prize!
www.firstgiving.com/graduates
www.firstgiving.com/graduates2
Her two fundraisers for graduates need to fund soon so that the kids can get their special needs gifts before leaving the CI program. In an effort to push these to completion, Tamara is offering a $100 gift. This is how the raffle will work: You will received 1 raffle ticket for every $10 you donate to either fundraiser. After both fundraisers have hit the goal amount, she will draw a name from the raffle tickets collected. The prize is valued at $100, and can be chosen from any of the 40 gifts found here: https://www.ordermygift.com/74625500000_distinctive.aspx
You will find items such as watches, digital photo frames, MP3 player, digital camera, cookware set, a grill, a knife set, a couple of luggage sets (perfect for when you go to visit your sponsored child), a tent, and more!
Take a look around at the prizes, and then, make sure to get your name in the hat. :0)

Meet the graduates!

Tamara is holding a raffle as well. Since she has some other things going on (namely a baby that is coming any day now), I don't have the details of what is being offered. However, whomever donates even before the raffle is announced will be included in the raffle. I believe that it will be similar to Diego's raffle (meaning 1 ticket for every $10 donation). Here are the links to the two fundraisers:
