In Need of Some Elves!

We are in need of some Santa's elves to help us bring cheer to the hundreds of unsponsored children in Mazabuka. While we have come a long way- 230 children have been sponsored in the space of 6 1/2 months... We still have about 700 children without sponsors. Of course, the main goal is to find sponsors for all of them.

In the meantime, we would like to provide each child with a Christmas card, so that they will know there is someone out there who cares about them. We have about 300 children still in need of a card. If you would like to participate, it only takes a caring heart to spread the Christmas joy to these children who have never received a Christmas card in their lives!

E-mail me at macandmic@gmail.com , and I will send you an invite to our yahoo group. Once you are a part of the yahoo group, you will see the database of the "Christmas Cards 2010". You can sign up to send a card to whichever children do not have a "sender" listed in the "sender" field. Join us in the fun!!

For those of you who have been following Diego for the past 2 years, can you pick him out in this group of children? If not, he is the one with the sleeve-less white shirt on.

Thanks to most of you, he was able to receive things for his health including a bed & nutritional drinks. He got 6 months of private school tuition paid; a refrigerator for his aunt's business. A Letter from Muntanga

Here is the letter from Muntanga:

Dear Heather,

How are you? How is your family? How is Jaden? Back to me, not so badly. I am okay. My family is also fine. Dear sponsor, I also want to tell you the name of my sisters. I have only 2 sisters. My eldest sister is Memory Mweemba and she is doing grade 8 at Simwaba Basic School. My youngest sister is only 1 year and 4 months old. I hope you like my family. My young sister enjoys playing with the teddy bear you sent me last time.

I have received your gifts and, also, received 2 pictures and a letter. I really liked the picture that Jaden colored for me. I am very happy that you sent me one to color, too. I am happy to have a sponsor that thinks of me.

Please pass my greetings to your daughters Jaden and Morgan and Daddy and Mammy give greetings to you.

A Letter from Tubi

Here is the letter from Tubi:

Dear Sponsor,

How are you doing over in the USA? Here in Zambia, we are all right. Thank you very much for the uniform you sent me. May God bless you and your family.

My parents were very happy when I showed them what I received from you. I am now learning grade 3a at Simwaba Basic School, and the teacher is teaching me many new things. We play a lot of things like netball. I help my mother washing pots, plates and other items for the kitchen as well.

More from you in the USA. May God bless your family too.

Yours,

Mrs. Crara Cheello (mother)

MAC Fundraiser Raffles

Christmas is just around the corner! It is already November! Wow! Now all of the Christmas shopping fun begins (or for most of us, it began months ago as we purchased things to arrive in time for Christmas to various locations all across the globe).

The 12 days of Christmas Raffle that we had last year was a lot of fun, so we will be doing it again this year. I want to open it up to any one who has a fundraiser coming up- here is our list:
Current. Chrystal~ Maria
36. Katja~ Ana Gabriela in Guatemala

37. Candace~ Adriana in Colombia

38. Cherise~ Sabrata in India

39. Barbara~ Miguel in Mexico

40. Bernie~ Josselyn in Ecuador

41. Shana ~ Sonia & Yiseth in Colombia

42. Dorothee ~ Sayonika in India

43. Heather G ~ Diego in Ecuador

44. Holly ~ Yoselyn in Honduras

45. Jennifer~ Santanu in India

46. Heather M~ Henry in Colombia

47. Candace~ Johel in Colombia

48. Barbara ~ Crismairy in Dominican Republic

49. Inga ~ Yuselfi in Colombia

I know that not every sponsor with a fundraiser coming up wants to participate, but if you would like your fundraiser included in the 12 days of Christmas rafflethon, send me an e-mail at macandmic@gmail.com Last year we had gifts around the $25 range that people could win by donating $1 to the fundraiser- The more you donate, the more chances you have to win.
The sponsors who have fundraisers coming up would purchase an item to have up for raffle. Then, the raffle is held and the winner is notified. The sponsor who raffled the item would then ship the item to the winner.
There is one raffle a day!! All of the money that you give to the raffle is all tax deductible because it goes to Children International.
