Brenda's fundraiser has been completed!!! Now, after Chrystal send the extra donation in for the remainder, Brenda will be able to afford tuition for the 7th grade!! Thank you to all who have made this possible for her!!
This blog contains information about child sponsorship. All of the sponsors mentioned here support their sponsor children by making regular contributions that enable the sponsor children to receive health benefits, tuition support, food, and many other benefits. If you have ever doubted the value of becoming a sponsor- take a few moments to check out this blog. Most importantly, take note at the difference a special needs donation makes with our Make a Change fundraisers!

I wanted to provide everyone with an iGive update. According to their web-site, they send the checks on the 15th of every month. This month should be the first month we receive a check! Once received, I will take the check to the bank and disburse it to the current fundraisers. This will be a big help, especially since we are about 1/2 way through both of our fundraisers! Brenda's fundraiser only needs $180 more!! To donate to her fundraiser, click here
I am checking my mailbox every day, and you all will be the first to know when the iGive check arrives. Stay tuned!

Brenda, the lovely school girl in Guatemala, would like to continue her education. Education system in Guatemala is structured in such a way that allows for studying in high school while completing optional occupation such as computer, electricity, mechanics, accounting, secretariat, etc. After finishing secondary school in any of these specialties it is possible to continue on in any university field.

A note from Chrystal:
"I have two new photos from my CI Kids. Luz from Guatemala Age 9 and sponsored her since April 2009. She is wearing the shirt that was purchased with the special needs gifts I sent her for a trip to see her grandparents and items needed. And, Brenda from Guatemala Age 12 sponsored her since July 2008. Brenda was the girl we raised funds for an IGP selling juice. Brenda will graduate from the 6th grade this year and I will look into what I can do to help her further her education. So far, she has done well in all her classes.

#4 Henry is my child (Heather M), and he lives in Cartagena, Colombia. His family has struggled to keep employment and a steady income. When I first started sponsoring him, his family was living on $25 a month!! Now, his family is at $105 a month. This is extremely low, so this fundraiser was very important for the family.
#5 Alejandra and Fabiola are Su's children in Mexico. They wanted to start a business selling small items in order to add income to the household.
Amount raised: $290 by 5/12/09
Items bought for the business:
toys
plates
cups
bowls
and more! (take a look at the picture to see just how much they were about to buy to sell)
#6 Brenda is Chrystal's child in Guatemala. They family was in need of income to provide for their basic needs. This fundraiser set up Brenda's family to have an ice drink business.

This is Chrystal's sponsored child Brenda from Guatemala. Chrystal will be giving us more information about her soon, as she is scheduled for fundraising project #6. For now, here are the basics that she sent me:
