Fundraiser Update

I want to pass on this great news! We have two fundraisers that are almost completed! I know there are lots of fundraisers going, and it feels like you are being pulled in a million different directions! Please consider giving to these fundraisers. We have over 20 children waiting in line for their turn to come up on the MAC waiting list!!

I have had some requests for a MAC fundraiser, but to be honest, at this point, there is no way can expect to be able to provide any more children with a fundraiser. We will have to come up with some big ideas to get these fundraisers moving. I do not want to disappoint any of the children on our waiting list!

If you can help, please donate to our 2 current fundraisers. Once these fund, we will be able to get 2 more children's fundraisers launched! Thank you for your continued support!

Brenda's needs $90- to donate, click here
(on the note of Child Hope Zambia, the above child is available for sponsorship on www.childhopezambia.blogspot.com )

Brenda is soooo Close!

Thanks to a $50 donation just received, we are $50 closer to our goal. Brenda only needs $130 more to complete her fundraiser!!! That is only $10 each from 13 people. That can be done! To help with her fundraiser, make a donation here

iGive Update

I wanted to provide everyone with an iGive update. According to their web-site, they send the checks on the 15th of every month. This month should be the first month we receive a check! Once received, I will take the check to the bank and disburse it to the current fundraisers. This will be a big help, especially since we are about 1/2 way through both of our fundraisers! Brenda's fundraiser only needs $180 more!! To donate to her fundraiser, click here

I am checking my mailbox every day, and you all will be the first to know when the iGive check arrives. Stay tuned!

Franklyn and Brenda still need your help! The both have a little over $100 raised so far, but we have $200+ needed to complete them! These are both great causes! Brenda's money will be used for her secondary education, and Franklyn's money will be used to set him up with a welding business after he completes trade school. To donate to one or both fundraisers, click on their name and make the donations on their FirstGiving pages:

Fundraiser #27 Has Launched!

Brenda, the lovely school girl in Guatemala, would like to continue her education. Education system in Guatemala is structured in such a way that allows for studying in high school while completing optional occupation such as computer, electricity, mechanics, accounting, secretariat, etc. After finishing secondary school in any of these specialties it is possible to continue on in any university field.

The goal is to raise tuition funds so that Brenda can continue on to the next grade. She will be able to pick up a specialty skill while she furthers her education. The total cost of school fees and tuition for the 7th grade will be $524. This fundraiser will raise $350 and Chrystal will raise the rest on her own.

Updated Photos of Chrystal's Children

A note from Chrystal:

"I have two new photos from my CI Kids. Luz from Guatemala Age 9 and sponsored her since April 2009. She is wearing the shirt that was purchased with the special needs gifts I sent her for a trip to see her grandparents and items needed. And, Brenda from Guatemala Age 12 sponsored her since July 2008. Brenda was the girl we raised funds for an IGP selling juice. Brenda will graduate from the 6th grade this year and I will look into what I can do to help her further her education. So far, she has done well in all her classes.

A Look Back 2009 Part 2~ All IGP's!

#4 Henry is my child (Heather M), and he lives in Cartagena, Colombia. His family has struggled to keep employment and a steady income. When I first started sponsoring him, his family was living on $25 a month!! Now, his family is at $105 a month. This is extremely low, so this fundraiser was very important for the family.

Amount raised: $215 by 5/6/09

What the family received:
Items needed to start their own restaurant
1 set of 12 pieces of cutlery
4 plastic tables
16 plastic chairs
1 can opener
1 pitcher
1 fryer
1 blender
1 grater
1 fan

The amount needed to start the business was way more than what we could raise at that time. For this reason, I have requested an update from the field to see how much more the family needs to get the business off the ground.

#5 Alejandra and Fabiola are Su's children in Mexico. They wanted to start a business selling small items in order to add income to the household.

Amount raised: $290 by 5/12/09

Items bought for the business:

toys

plates

cups

bowls

and more! (take a look at the picture to see just how much they were about to buy to sell)

#6 Brenda is Chrystal's child in Guatemala. They family was in need of income to provide for their basic needs. This fundraiser set up Brenda's family to have an ice drink business.

Amount raised: $265 by 5/20/09

Items purchased for the business:

A machine to make ice drinks

A juice extractor

6 glasses

200 oranges
