First iGive Check Finally Arrived!!

The efforts of all of our iGive searches and purchases have finally paid off!! The check from February activity came yesterday. The total is $51.39. I am disbursing the money into our 3 current fundraisers: $17.13 for each fundraiser!! Yay!!! Keep searching and purchasing through iGive with donations going to Make a Change. We will start getting monthly checks from now on, so this will really help our fundraisers- Especially during the slow Summer months!

Update on the iGive Check

Well, I have been waiting and waiting for this iGive check! I thought it was coming on the 15th, but as of today the 26th, it is still not here... So, I decided to check out the account and see what's going on. I guess I miscalculated because according the the iGive account, the $51.39 is going to be in the May 31st check. That would mean the check would be here the middle of June. Well, wishful thinking on my part because I thought we had already waited long enough. Sorry to disappoint because I know everyone is anxious to see those funds get into the fundraisers. The good news is we don't have too much longer to wait now :o)

iGive Update

I wanted to provide everyone with an iGive update. According to their web-site, they send the checks on the 15th of every month. This month should be the first month we receive a check! Once received, I will take the check to the bank and disburse it to the current fundraisers. This will be a big help, especially since we are about 1/2 way through both of our fundraisers! End of April iGive Update

iGive has become a great fundraising tool for us. I use it every time I search and every time I make a purchase online. In February, you may remember, we raised $48.46!!! The check for February's earnings will be coming May 15th and will be applied to whichever fundraisers are currently going at the time.
We only have 9 people signed up for this, so imagine what we could do if more of you joined the cause!! If we had 18 people, we could have close to $100 in one month! Please help if you can. It doesn't cost anything. The link is on the right hand side of this blog. Make sure to select your cause: "Make a Change MAC".
For the month of March, we raised $20.27!! And, the month of April- $31.35!!! While it isn't much, it is still free money that is helping our kids! How awesome is that?! To date, we have raised a total of $100.08 in 3 months!!

We are now OFFICIAL!

On March 1st, I mentioned that I got a DBA for "Make a Change". I set it up because of iGive, and the fact that we will soon be getting checks from them that will go to our fundraisers. Since the check our written out to Make a Change, I had to file a "Doing Business As" in the public records. I did that in February, but I have been putting off setting up an account.

Well, today, I went to the bank and started an account for the group to be used for putting the checks into, and then disbursing them to the fundraisers. On May 15th, we should receive a check for $4846!! Since I just set up the account today, I will have the debit card by the time the check comes. Yay! I had to put $100 in of my own money to start the account. When I get the check, I will take my $100 out, and disburse $40 to the fundraisers. That will leave $8.46 in the account, and and since the account can't have a $0 balance I think this is a nice sum to leave in until the next check comes in June. There will be a check every month from iGive. The more people participate, the more we will be able to help our fundraisers!

iGive end of February Update

We now have 9 members raising money through iGive for our fundraisers! The money collects monthly. For the month of February (our first month) we have raised $48.46! Isn't that awesome?! I took care of getting a DBA a couple of weeks ago. This will allow me to open a bank account for Make a Change in order to process the checks received through this manner. I will be working on starting up the bank account this month. It won't have any funds in it except for the funds that I will put in from my own money based on the bank's minimum deposit. Any checks that we receive through iGive or other outlets will be cashed using that account & then deposited into whichever the current fundraisers are at the time.

It is not too late to join us on iGive. You will find the link on the right-hand side of this blog. Make sure you designate Make a Change as the beneficiary of the money earned from your web searches and purchases.

The amount we raised in February $48.46 will be delivered to us on May 15th, 2010. Funds raised in March will arrive on June 15th, 2010, and so on.

A big hug and thank you goes out to my 9 supporters who have raised $48.46 in less than a month's time (hugging myself, too... LOL!)

It doesn't get any easier than iGive!

Well, it has been 2 weeks since Make a Change was added to the iGive family. We started with only one member, went to 4 members within a week, and now, after 2 weeks are at 7 members. That isn't very many members considering 2 of them are referrals that came in from outside of the group.

I wanted to give everyone an idea about what iGive is about and how it can help us. First of all, I uploaded the iGive toolbar to my laptop. Every time I need to search, I use iGive instead of google, or yahoo, or whatever other search engine I would normally use. Make a change gets money every time I search!!!
