Christmas Package Received- Patricio

And the Winner for Day 1 is...

Katja! I really appreciate everyone who came together to help this little boy get his wheelchair! We raised $38, and with the match, that puts us at $76 raised. We will have another raffle for him in a few days in hopes of reaching the $500 mark. I just can't bare to see him without it- If you see him in the group pictures, someone always has to hold him. When he is not being held, he is sitting in the dirt. I don't know any 8 year old boy that wouldn't feel strange being carried. He is just a few years away from the teen years, so he really needs to get his independence and be able to play with the other kids.

Meet Jessavel and her Family!

This is Jessavel and her family who live in the Philippines. I have been her sponsor for about five years. Jessavel enjoys playing Scrabble and she wants to be a teacher one day. She enjoys tending to the garden in her family's back yard and she travels to school by boat. Hopefully soon, Jessavel and her family will have a new fishing boat and she will be able to travel with her father on the family boat instead of paying for travel to school. She is supposed to help her father construct the boat. It should be a very exciting time for them! God bless.

Steve's Colombia Visit Confirmed!

For those of us who have been a part of the CI google group for a while, we know how exciting it is when Steve makes a trip to one of the community centers. Steve visited my Guatemalan child Yessica over a year ago, and then, he visited with my Mexican child Brayan last year.

Now, he is headed to Colombia! It is a very exciting time for me because the child that I have been sponsoring the longest (Henry) is in Cartagena. He will, also, be visiting Diego who I have sponsored for a year and a half now! Talk about excitement! I purchased a Colombia national soccer jersey for both Diego and Henry. In Diego's package, I included a "Daddy Yankee" CD, since he is his favorite singer/rapper of all time. In Henry's package I included the mini lite brite shown above.

I can't wait to see the videos that Steve comes back with!!! I have never seen these children in motion before :o) Thank you, Steve, for allowing all of us to enjoy the experience with you and get to know our children better!

Summer Reading Package Received- Patricio in Chile

Patricio's photos came today of the gifts he received from Susan that she ordered from Make a Change. I also have photos of his family attached.

Patricio is my newest child. He is from Chile and he lives with his father, mother, two brothers and younger sister. Patricio is nine years old and likes to recite poetry. This is a photo of gifts that he received from Susan, a friend of mine. She ordered the gifts from Make a Change and sent them to him when his sponsorship first began. It was very sweet of her to do this and he looks very happy.


Patricio's letter:

I hope that this letter finds you well. I greet you from the distance with a lot of love. I want to tell you that I am very happy because I was given a present. Thank you for your concern.
