Fundraiser #20~ Thank you!

A post from Chrystal (on Wilfredo's behalf):
Thank you everyone for helping in Jerry's fundraiser. He is soooo happy thanks to you guys.

Gifts:
Home Furnishing
Transportation

What were the child's/family comments'
-The family was very glad and excited to be at the mall to shop for the gift items that was made possible through the special needs contribution sent by Jerry's sponsor. For them, the gift was a very big help to improve their living condition. They expressed their sincere thanks for the sponsor's generosity

How will the gifts benefit the family,
- With the gift sent to the family, they were able to have mosquito net which they longed to have. Now that they already have this, they can comfortably sleep at night . A quality monobloc table is already available in their house. The table serves as a dining and at the same time study table of the kids. Clothes of the family are now well kept in their new storage box. The house looks more presentable, orderly and equipped with additional accessories, because of these new items.

Jerry's letter
- I would like to say thank you for the special donation on that you had given to me. And of course I will tell you the things that i bought. I bought table, dish drainer and cup. I and my family were very happy for the gift. Again thank you very very much for the special donation. Thank you and I love you. God Bless

Current Fundraisers 1/15/10

#18 is for Yamileisy and Jose Manuel's family in the Dominican Republic to start a business. They need about $330 more to start the business. Here is the link
#19 is for Carla in Chile. The fundraiser is almost halfway to completion with only a little over $100 to go!! Here is the link

#20~ Is for Jerry's family in the Philippines. They only need $100 to buy a table, cabinet & family-sized mosquito net. Here is the link

Sara S. capped off fundraiser #15 yesterday!!! YAY!! Now Maria & Ullysette will get the beds and food they need. Thank you, every one who helped make that happen for these two precious children!

These are the 3 fundraisers we now have going on. I expect them to fund quickly. 2 of them are almost complete, so it shouldn't take long. We have lots of families waiting in line, so I am anxious to get these completed ASAP. (20 more families are waiting for us- Can you believe it!?)

I will be adding some funds that I have today. Please join me in helping these 3 families. I think we can get at least one of these funded today, and the more we fund, the more people we can help!!

Thank you again for all you do! Have I ever told you how much I appreciate each and every one of you? Well, If I haven't...

I APPRECIATE YOU TREMENDOUSLY!!!!

**By the way, the money made from the princess dolls discussed in the post right before this one will be donated immediately! That being said, 8 dolls have already been purchased, and $64 has been donated to the fundraisers listed above. That means it will be even easier to get these funded!!

Update to Project #8 for Alia

I promised an update as soon as I got it, so here it is... Alia's family has decided that they want to do an income generating project! They want a small fish business, and you won't believe how much this will cost... brace yourselves... $110!!! Wilfredo is adding an extra $10 to her fundraiser, so here is the new breakdown of what will be purchased with the $210 raised:
items
fish (variety of fresh fish)
bowl
styrofoam
chopping board
weighing scale
pail
Total cost= $110

The second part of the fundraiser, the $100 will go to get things that the family is in need of most. This could be food, clothes for Alia, or a number of different things. When we get the pictures back from Ci, it will be exciting to see what they chose to buy with the money.
Thank you, everyone for supporting Wilfredo and Alia in this fundraising project!

Fundraiser #8!

A message from Alia's sponsor Wilfredo:
I am so excited be able to help raise funds for Alia and her family. Alia is from Manilia, Phillippines. She is 9 years old and has a brother, age5 and has two sisters, one age 3 and a newborn. Her father (Age: 36) is alaborer and mother (Age: 29) is a housekeeper. The Family's monthly incomeis only $ 38 Dollars a month. Alia's home has a palm leaf as a roof anduses a community pump for water and a community latrine.

Alia is a very smart young lady. According to CI, she has made it to honorsclasses in school. In her letters she explains school is very important to her and she studies hard to get good grades. Alia also helps her mom with heryounger siblings and around the house. She expresses her appreciation for all that I do to support her.

Based on the information that was provided to me, I would like to raise moneyto help improve their lives. CI has informed me they are in desperate need of food and would like to have some clothes for Alia and maybe pots/appliance.

(The special needs request should be back from the field any day now, and the exact break down of what the money will be used for will be added to the page when received.)

Thank you again for supporting Alia and her Family. They will be so grateful for the funds raised.
