Although my dad was not feeling well and did not accompany me when I visited Jon and Wilson in Honduras, he is impressed by the CI program and the ways they encourage sponsors to connect with their children overseas. When I told him that Heather was looking for new sponsors for her children with serious health conditions, he offered to take on Katherine, a little girl from Ecuador. Dad is very interested in learning Spanish and sponsoring more children from countries that speak that language. Also, he is a retired RN, so he understands Katherine's illness and is sympathetic toward her and her family.
