Does this even look like the same child!?!?! Our group of 7 sponsors (unless anyone else would like to join us... the more the merrier) made the sponsorship of "Paolita" official today. Here is here original story from the CI blog:We are all going to have a lot of fun helping Paola and her family I think. Greg is getting us some more pictures & a special needs report that will hopefully be an Income Generating Project. As soon as we had a group account, and we were able to look more into Paola's specifics, it was clear that they need help ASAP.
The father is "ausente"... Who was it in the google group who mentioned that they thought that was the name of the father (instead of it meaning "absent). It makes me laugh every time I see that on a report now... Though, the concept of being "ausente" is not funny at all.
Paola has one of those "ausente" fathers. The mother is raising 3 young girls on her own. Paola is 4, and she has a baby sister and a 6 year old sister. Her mother works as a laborer for $95 a month!!! How she works & does it on her own is any one's guess!! Gratefully, we will have more specifics from Greg when CI goes out to visit with the family and discuss an IGP. Hopefully, an IGP can change their circumstances.
If you would like to be part of the group, there is still time. I need to make a seperate post about what is involved (really not much) another day.
Thank you google groupers for helping Paola!! Your generous spirit is really going to make a difference (as it already does with the other children you sponsor)!!! You all are the best!!!
