Now, here is what I need to know from you all. Based on the poll on the right, there are not many sponsors who sponsor a child in Chile, Honduras, nor India. For those of you who do sponsor children there, do you want me to add your country to the list? We have to have participation of at least two sponsors to be able to ship to that center. (otherwise there won't be enough $ for shipping). The same goes for any of the countries listed above that have more than one community center.
The Philippines and Guatemala are the 2 that concern me the most. How many community centers do each of those countries have? Which of these centers would you all like to send packages to?
Now, as for Colombia... I had one last order, so I am purchasing all of the items for the Colombian children now. Be expecting pictures of the items by the end of the week.
Also, don't forget that you can include a letter to your child with your items. If you decide to include a letter, just e-mail me the word document. I will print it off and put it inside the Ziploc bag with the child's name and ID # on it.

I sponsor two children in Honduras, so if you add Honduras to the list I would definitely participate. :)
As for my sponsored children in the Philippines, I have one who uses the Tabaco centre, and one who uses the Legazpi Port centre.
What is the cost per package?
There is no cost per package. You can send as little or as much as you want. I plan to do an FAQ later on tonight. In the meantime, all you have to do is go to the Make a Change web store. Once there, you will see all of your options. The cost listed for the books, toys, etc includes the cost of the book, the cost to ship it, and a donation to the current fundraisers. The combined effort makes it easier to sedn our children packages (instead of having to come up with $100 for shipping and items to one child).
I sponsor kids in Chile, and I would be interested in participating if a package is sent there.
In the Philippines, I sponsor kid(s) near Legazi Port, Manila and Tabaco.
In Guatemala, I think CI's main hub is Guatemala City. (Not sure how many community centers they have in/around the city, but I think that is the only city where they have a presence).
Happy Wednesday all!
Sara
Different community centers do not NECESSARILY mean different mailing addresses for packages. For instance, all three of the community centers on the outskirts of San Pedro Sula in Honduras are serviced by the main office in the city itself. This is also the case in Guadalajara, Mexico - 3 community centers, but all packages go to the same main office.
I believe that there will only be different offices in the case of service areas being long distances apart - like the two on either end of Ecuador. This is something we will need to find out for each country.
Two things about Honduras -
They have a newer service area about 3 hours outside of the city in the town of Copan. I do not know if this location has its own headquarters or if it still uses the SPS main office.
The address for the SPS office has just changed. The new address is:
Sra. Blanca Estela Rodriguez
Asociacion Programa Amigos de los Ninos
Colonia San Jose de Sula
Santa Matilde Avenue, Block #2, SE
San Pedro Sula, Honduras
I agree with Sara; I also believe that there is only one main office that services all of Guatemala City - as far as Antigua, an hour away.
