CI Day, Part 12 – Leaving the Mall:
After our shopping was completed, there was just enough time to get ice cream before we had to leave. Once we got outside the entrance, we discovered that our van and driver had gone AWOL. I think he had to pick up his own kids at school? Anyway, we got to spend a little more time with our kids + take some group photos while we waited for the vehicle to return. We just loitered in front of the mall, finishing our ice cream, until we could take the boys back to their respective homes.
Victor's thoughts: What would a fun day be without ice cream at the end? I didn't actually know the van driver was missing; I don't guess I was paying much attention at that point. It was nice to spend a bit of extra time with the boys because, to be honest, I had hoped we'd be able to spend more time with them than we actually had. Next time we are going to arrange things differently without the need for home visits and a lot less time spent traveling around. It would have been different if there were just one or two children as we would have all been able to ride in the van, but with a pack of us and a pack of them, it just wasn't doable.
